Want to be a featured performer at 4th Fridays?
We are thrilled invite local artists to be 4th Fridays featured performers, and are so glad to be able to provide an intimate stage for them to show off their new, old, or in-progress works. We like to book artists that we meet at Gloucester community events, those who frequent the store, live nearby, have roots in Gloucester, and/or those who bring something special and unusual to the arts & culture scene here on Cape Ann. We appreciate and celebrate talent of all kinds, be it genre-specific or interdisciplinary; and we prioritize stage opportunities for those who are traditionally under-represented or underserved in the world of entertainment: queer artists, women artists, artists who are people of color, those who challenge the status quo, and those who address themes in their work that are related to under-told histories, cross-cultural narratives, first nation experiences, and explorations of gender, sexuality, race, and mental health.
While we tend to invite artists directly, we do accept queries via email, or you may come by the store to drop off a reader’s copy of your book for us to peruse, or share links to your work. Let us know briefly who you are, what you make, and why you’d like to come hang out at Dogtown Books. We are a local, independent business and don’t have a staff person solely dedicated to booking shows; thanks for your patience!
