10 Tijuana Bibles, Vintage 1930s. Excellent Condition

$500.00
“Tijuana Bibles” were circulated (rather widely) around the US in the 1930s and 40s. Often 8 pages of hilariously indecent cartoons lampooning Disney characters, Al Capone and The King of England, they were sold under the counter for 25 cents at bars, pool halls, tobacco shops and burlesque houses. Little is known about the artists, printers and distributors, though prevailing wisdom leans towards organized crime. These are a neat piece of history that landed in our shop recently. Sure to ruffle some feathers, almost 100 years after their printing. Rare to see these in such good condition.
