RECORD OF THE DEDICATION OF THE STATUE OF MAJOR GENERAL WILLIAM FRANCIS BARTLETT, MAY 27 1904 Commonwealth of Massachusetts 1905.

Bartlett, a native of Haverhill, MA, was a Harvard student when the Civil War began. He rose in rank due to attrition of his seniors. He lost a leg to a rifle shot, became a colonel, was wounded twice in the battle of Port Hudson, and again in the battle of the Wilderness; he was captured and imprisoned for two months until June of 1865. He became Major General by brevet before his 25th birthday. An excellent, unmarked copy.
