First edition of the 7th book from Scottish author, Helen Bannerman (1862-1946) who is best known for her first book, Little Black Sambo. As with her other books, the setting is India, where a mischievous monkey lives in a large banyan tree.  The first edition of this title is quite scarce, and is not to be confused with the later editions with red boards.
