Kaupeepee, A Story of Old Hawaii. Blackman 1902 (Scarce)

$250.00
Kaupeepee, A Story of Old Hawaii.
Rendered into verse by Leopold Blackman.
Published by William C. Lyon (Honolulu) 1902.

This is a scarce (in original form) book and an interesting part of Hawaiian history. Library records show very few (if any) holdings of this original text in circulation or holdings.

Leopold G. Blackman was a twentieth century renaissance man of sorts. He was an educator, writer, soldier and briefly, a convicted felon. He also played soccer. After moving to Hawai‘i from his native England, Blackman became one of the earliest promoters of the sport on the islands. He was instrumental in creating Hawai‘i’s first soccer community.
