Rare in hardcover, first edition. An In-Depth Study of the Weight-Driven Banjo Clock. Over 300 b&w photos. The author provides an in-depth analysis of the weight driven banjo timepiece. He compares the products of different makers and places them in categories, then summarizes to assist the serious collector of the banjo to evaluate each piece. More than fifty clocks were disassembled and studied in detail. The results were arranged in chart form. Additional miscellaneous clocks are shown and discussed with regard to comparisons and similarities. In addition, most of the clocks from Mr. Charles Parson's book, "New Hampshire Clocks and Clockmakers" were included to help serve as an excellent basis for comparisons. Contents include: List of Early Timepiece Makers, Authenticity of Banjos, Study of Clocks in depth, Miscellaneous clocks, ( including photos of Frazer Fergie Photo Collection) Comparisons, Summary and Conclusions A superb reference for the collector, dealer or historian. 4to, Brown cloth. 1st Edition.
